Kingman Therapaws is a group of volunteer teams (volunteer and their Pet Partner registered dog) who visit patients and students in health care facilities and schools.
Each dog is a Delta Pet Partner registered therapy dog that has gone through rigorous training and testing to ensure that the dogs are well mannered, have appropriate temperaments and are in good health.
We provide one on one interaction with a dog who often provides comfort, companionship, encouragement and diversion in a otherwise sterile environment. The health and emotional benefits of interactions have been well documented. In schools our dogs encourage and excite students to learn, become better communicators and become better readers.
Currently, Kingman Therapaws members visit the patients at Kingman Regional Medical Center, nursing homes, KRMC Hospice, elementary schools and preschools. Therapy dogs can be utilized in a variety of settings. If you have a need for having a therapy dog in your facility or are interested in volunteering in a particular place, please contact us and we will try to accommodate you. |
